A Return, A Visit

The EWA came storming through the great white north, as it visited WInnepeg, Canada this week on Wednesday Night Face-Off. Canada gladly welcomed the EWA as they gathered in hordes to buy tickets for the short tour as well as watch the event at various galas and parties around the city. They also gathered at the arena, hoping to get a glimpse of or an autograph from their favorite EWA Megastar. The EWA sponsored several events throughout the week, allowing fans to get closer to the action for autograph sessions as well as photographs. It was fun had by all and the fun will continue up to Blood Harvest, which will take place in Montreal.
On Wednesday Night Face-Off, we saw the return of one of the EWA's most sought alumni, Carrick Fergus. The raging Irishmen made his debut once again after there had been much speculation over the past few weeks of his return. Well, he returned with a Vengeance, tearing the the former Heavyweight Champion, the Garbage Man, in an Extreme Rules match that will be sure to have highlights on his "best of" DVD some day. Sure to give the EWA one hell of a fight in the months to come, Fergus has made his presence known, as well as showing his match of choice will always be in the land of Extreme. Does he have his eyes set on the EWA Extreme Champion? Will this new found energy drive him to gold? Who will he be matched up with next week? We'll stay tuned to find out.
Speaking of Extreme Rules, Doomsday and EWA Tag Team Champion, Freakazoid, faced off in a one-on-one contest this week. These are not unfamiliar rivals, as they have had a long standing feud dating back to the return of the EWA and their epic struggle for the EWA World Heavyweight Championship. Now it's the tag team gold that has everyone on the edge of their seats. Just a little less than two weeks away from Blood Harvest, the match has been made. In a "No Holds Barred" tag team contest, Freakazoid and Spawn will face off against Doomsday and a mystery partner who is yet to be named. We're all waiting anxiously for some answers, and we may have had a bit of insight into the outcome of that match by this week's results. Freakazoid came into this match with violent fury, decimating Doomsday every chance he could. The "Psychological Assassin" was not on top of his game, as Freakazoid fought with such determination, one may think Doomsday had underestimated him. It was a "Freaky Look" Powerbomb from the top rope onto a stack of chairs that sealed Doomsday's fate and allowed the three count to be made. If Freakazoid can bring this intensity to Blood Harvest, those titles might not go anywhere.
Wednesday Night Face-Off also experienced a few surprise visitors this week. Former EWA Megastars, Athena and the Wolf were seen sitting amongst the crowd. They handed out a few autographs and were welcomed by Winnipeg with open arms. They were not welcomed so openly by the current Women's Champion, Phade. She mocked the former Megastars and used her challenger at Blood Harvest, Aether, in comparison with them. Phade was set to team up with Christopher W. Evans in tag team action against their opponents, the Federation's own Oli Griffiths and Aether. Caspian Celette sat by on commentary, keeping a close eye on his stablemates as well as watching for the mysterious Voodoo King. Though the King did not make an appearance, Phade fought the good fight, keeping Aether and Griffiths on their toes. Evans was a little slow on the take at first, but he fought very defensively. One assumes he might be preparing and saving his energy for Blood Harvest, where he will face off against Oli Griffiths in Hell in the Cell. The match was a strong showing on both sides, yet it was a distraction by the guests, Athena and the Wolf, that may have cost the Women's Champion and her partner the match. The former Megastars had moved down to the ringside area and started taunting the champ. It was when Phade turned away the Oli hit Evans with the "Beatdown" pinning him for the three count. This only caused Phade's fury to grow, as she hopped down from the apron, grabbing a chair and moving to the guard rail. Aether attempted to step in, only to cause her head to be cracked with that chair. Security eventually intervened, breaking up the parties.
As the Megastars make their way toward Blood Harvest, Canada (and the rest of the world) excitedly await any further developments that may take place in the weeks to come!
