Return of the review! (Sorry folks, in order to get full results fast this week, I'm writing up a review due to lack of time in order to write out a full show. As soon as matters clear up, this issue should be resolved)
Unless you've been living under a rock the past few weeks, you've known of the Extreme Wrestling Alliance's current situation involving the WMPX Network. After a cancelled Wednesday Night Face-Off as well as the cancellation of the Pay Per View "Resolution", the EWA Staff and Megastars have been working overtime to return the show to it's prior glory. The difficulty being, the Network is among them. Last week, Chris James was revealed to be a representative of the network, seeking to destroy the EWA from the inside out. This week was no different. Although he was scheduled to square up with former Three 2 Three teammate Alexis Morningstar, that match was cancelled when Morningstar did not arrive to the event. No details have been released on Morningstar's absence, but it is believed that James may have been an influential factor.
In other related news, EL FANTASTICO and Crazy Bill also did not appear at the event, some say it may be due to similar circumstances as Morningstar, but rumors have begun to circulate that several Megastars have seriously considered the contract being offered by WMPX. Hopefully, we will hear more to the contrary in the weeks to come.
With Equilibrium just weeks away, the tension is beginning to mount. After missing the previous week's show, Carrick Fergus and Randy Roko were dealt a devastating blow at the hands of one half of the EWA Tag Team Champions, Doomsday, and Extreme Champion, Donzig. In a tornado tag cage match, Donzig and Doomsday employed a few of their underhanded tactics to gain the advantage. Using horrific double teams that some would find illegal in any normal match, the referees could do nothing but watch as the Psychological Assassin and the Hardcore Incarnate unleashed hell on their opponents. With the help of Doomsday's trusty pipe, stashed in the leg of his pants and the brass knuckles in Donzig's pocket, the Rebellion duo bloodied up Roko and Fergus, leaving them unconscious in the ring as they both made the slow climb to victory, escaping the cage.
Donzig may have the advantage for his upcoming title match at Equilibrium, but there is still the factor of Xavier Serikaz to add to the equation. Serikaz has been called "Mr. Extreme" in the past and has proven his mettle in the past few weeks in matches against Roko and the Garbage Man. He was originally planned to face the debuting Joseph Johnson, but things didn't go as planned.
Enter Lokee.
For the past weeks, the name "Lokee" has been passed around the dressing room like a cursed idol. People speak in whispers and fear of a "darkness to come". Well, that evil did arrive in the form of the demon Lokee. Upon his arrival, it was unveiled that it was the Women's Champion Phade who had summoned him, at the will of General Manager Nicolas Griffin. Immediately, Lokee was awarded the second half of the tag titles once held by Spawn. Is Griffin trying to gain some sort of control of the title division by matching up the Villain of the Year, Doomsday, with perhaps one of the greatest threats of all time, Lokee?
Xavier has made some bold statements about his career to come, but without a doubt, he has shown his devotion to the EWA. Though his words were followed by an intense encounter with the number one contender for the World Championship, Freakazoid, it was the encounter that followed that left the people stunned. Serikaz was greeted by Lokee, who continued to mock and mimic the undefeated Xavier, pushing every single button he could find within Serikaz's psyche. Serikaz, unbothered, turned down a challenge made by the mysterious Lokee, but he probably should have checked with the General Manager first. At the last moment, Griffin changed the card so the Extreme Championship's number one contender would face the tag team championship in the ring. Johnson would still compete, but against Lokee's original opponent, Danny Diamond. But we'll talk more about Lokee and Xavier in a little bit.
Joseph Johnson proved his worth against the Tom Jones wannabe, devastating him with a variety of technical, as well as brawling techniques. Johnson has an impressive resume and has promised to bring "Explicit Content" to the EWA. Where are Johnson's sights set? Is it on championship gold? Is it on ultimate glory? Is he even ready for the challenges that may face him in the future in the form of the EWA's veterans? We will be watching Johnson very closely in the weeks to come.
Back to Lokee and Xavier. Without a doubt, this could be one of the hottest feuds in the EWA to date. These two men want to tear eachother apart and in their match this week, they almost did exactly that. The fight may have started in the ring, but that's not where it ended. Punch for punch, kick for kick, these two competitors dragged each other all around the ring and all around the arena! After thirty five minutes of fighting, the officials finally pulled the competitors apart, but what damage has been done? Xavier wanted no part of the EWA's newest menace, but it appears that Lokee is far from done with his taunting pursuit of Serikaz.
The Women's Champion Phade faced off against the Raven-haired vixen, Nikki Chalice in another Women's Championship title defense this week. It was a very open and shut match. Nikki could not start ANY offense against the Champion and she used it to her advantage, scoring the pinfall after a devastating "Pins n' Needles". The match lasted less than seven minutes. With the arrival of Sasha Talouse in the near future, could we see a new number one contender heading into Equilibrium?
Finally, in the main event of the evening, Freakazoid's number one contendership was once again at risk as he was matched up with the returning Oli Griffiths. Freakazoid brought the intensity he is known for. Using his powerhouse techniques, he was able to keep the master of the "Beatdown" from taking to the skies. There is no doubt that the Freak Show has proven himself to be a true number one contender, but will he every get his chance? Can he win that elusive World Title? We'll be paying very close attention to see how this develops.
